A proud Chicago native, Dr. Allen received his medical degree from the University of Illinois. He completed his medical internship at Los Angeles County General Hospital and his residency at the Wadsworth Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Los Angeles. He completed his cardiology training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and obtained additional experience in cardiology at St. George’s Hospital in London, England. He has served as director of the coronary care unit and non-invasive laboratory at Cedars-Sinai, and is past president and on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles affiliate of the American Heart Association. He has published multiple abstracts, articles and book chapters, and is a recognized expert in clinical cardiology, physical examination and echocardiography. |
