As a strong advocate for women’s heath, Dr. Judelson is active with the American Medical Women’s Association, AMWA, and served as their 1996-1997 President. She has served as chair of the Women Physicians Congress of the American Medical Association.



Awards & Recognitions
Dr. Judelson has received numerous community and national awards for her programs on heart health and on promoting awareness of heart disease in women, including the Los Angeles County Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Contribution to the Status of Women, the Albert Schweitzer Award for Humanitarianism, Healthcare Excellence Wenger Award in 2000 from WomenHeart.org, and the City of Beverly Hills Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Community Service. She has been designated as a “Local Legend” by the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) National Library of Medicine, the NIH Office of Women’s Health Research, and the American Medical Women’s Association.

Other Professional Accomplishments
Dr. Judelson has been a health activist, advocating for cleaner air, limiting smoking, healthier food choices, public training for CPR, wide spread availability of automatic defibrillators, as well as preventing and reducing heart disease. Dr. Judelson also has a national reputation in heart disease in women. She developed a program to train primary care physicians about heart disease in women during the early 1990s, with the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA); this program trained over 18,000 primary care physicians from 1994 to 2002 on the risk factors, diagnosis and treatment of women’s heart disease. Dr. Judelson is also past President of AMWA, and has been a delegate for the American Medical Association and the California Medical Association, chairs the Air Quality Committee for the Los Angeles County Medical Association, and chairs the Policy Council for the Los Angeles County Office of Women’s Health. She also serves on the City of Beverly Hills Health and Safety Commission, as chair for 2011-2012.

Teaching & Publishing
Dr. Judelson teaches medical students and residents in primary care as well as cardiovascular disease. She has been interviewed on many television shows from Oprah to Good Morning America, and in print publications such as Good Housekeeping, Prevention Magazine, Readers Digest, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Self, Vogue and other local and national newspapers. She has been an author or contributor for several professional journals, including every version of the American Heart Association’s “Guidelines for Cardiovascular Disease in Women”. She is the lead author of the Women’s Complete Wellness Book, which is designed to help women achieve their optimal level of health and wellness throughout their life.
