FUSION II

(Follow-Up Serial Infusions of Natrecor® (neseritide) for the Management of Patient with Heart Failure)

The FUSION II trial is a multicenter trial being conducted in approximately 150 centers in the United States. The trial is sponsored by Scios and is the follow-up study to Fusion I. The objective of the FUSION II trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Natrecor® when it is administered to individuals with congestive heart failure in an out-patient setting. The consenting participants in this trial will have been diagnosed with NYHA III and IV and have required hospitalization for acute decompensated heart failure which was required treatment with IV vasoactive drugs. Participants in the trial will receive trial treatment for 12 weeks and then be followed for an additional 12 weeks following treatment. During the trial, participants will continue with their usual disease management and be required to come twice a week for infusion of Natrecor®.
