OPTIMIZER III

(Evaluation of the Safety and Efficacy of the OPTIMIZER? III System with Active Fixation Leads in Subjects with Heart Failure Resulting from Systolic Dysfunction: FIX-HF-5)

The Optimizer trial is a multicenter , prospective, randomized trial being conducted at 20 centers and will be enrolling approximately 356 patients. The trial is sponsored by Impulse Dynamics.. The objective of the OPTIMIZER trial is to assess the safety and effectiveness of the OPTIMIZERTM System, a septal wall pacer with active fixation leads in subjects with moderate to severe heart failure despite optimal medical therapy who are not candidates for CRT by evaluating improvement in exercise tolerance on CPX, quality of life, improvement in left ventricular ejection fraction as assessed by echocardiography and improvement in NYHA classification. All patients will be followed for 12 months.
