Triton – TIMI 38
(A Comparison of Prasugrel (CS-747) and Clopidogrel in Acute Coronary Syndrome Subjects who are to Undergo Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)

The Triton – TIMI 38 trial is a phase 3, multi-center, trial being conducted at 850 centers world-wide enrolling 13,000 patients. The trial is sponsored by Eli Lilly. CS-747 is a novel thienopyridine that blocks the ADP receptor and inhibits platelet activation and aggregation mediated by this receptor. The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that CS-747 plus aspirin is superior to Clopidogrel plus aspirin in the treatment of subjects with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who are to undergo PCI. Patients will be followed for cardiovascular endpoints (cardiovascular death, non-fatal MI and/or non-fatal stroke) for at least 12 months and will receive study medication for 12 months.
