Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California is pleased to welcome Dr. Aarush Manchanda, a board-certified noninvasive cardiologist and advanced cardiac imaging specialist with more than 15 years of experience. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.

Dr. Manchanda’s special interests include:

  • Precision and preventive cardiology
  • Early detection of coronary artery disease
  • Cardiac CT angiography and coronary plaque assessment
  • Echocardiography and valvular heart disease
  • Nuclear cardiology and cardiac MRI
  • Hypertension and complex cholesterol disorders
  • Heart failure and cardiac rhythm disorders
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Preoperative cardiovascular evaluation

Dr. Manchanda holds board certifications in cardiovascular disease, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiovascular computed tomography. Following his cardiology fellowship, he completed advanced fellowship training in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. This multimodality expertise allows him to integrate clinical findings with the most appropriate imaging technologies when evaluating complex cardiovascular conditions.

Dr. Manchanda was an early advocate for applying precision medicine to cardiology. In 2017, before precision cardiology became widely recognized in clinical practice, he introduced The Artisan’s Approach™—a model of care based on the principle that no two patients are exactly alike. He considers each patient’s medical and family history, lifestyle, environment, risk factors, laboratory findings, and cardiovascular imaging to develop an individualized strategy for prevention and treatment.

Dr. Manchanda’s clinical practice is devoted exclusively to cardiovascular medicine. This focus allows him to remain current with advances in cardiovascular science, imaging, prevention, and therapeutics and to provide rigorous, evidence-based specialty care. He believes patients are best served when primary and cardiovascular care are provided by dedicated physicians working collaboratively within their respective areas of expertise.

His holistic approach also recognizes the important relationship between emotional well-being and cardiovascular health. As a longtime practitioner of meditation, Dr. Manchanda appreciates the role of mindfulness, stress management, restorative sleep, and physical activity as complementary elements of evidence-based cardiovascular care.

Before joining CVMG, Dr. Manchanda served as Director of Noninvasive Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at Montage Health and as Medical Director of Cardiology and Cardiac Imaging at Intermountain Healthcare. He has also served on the cardiology faculty at Baystate Medical Center and taught medical students, residents, cardiology fellows, advanced practice providers, and cardiovascular imaging professionals.

Dr. Manchanda’s honors include the Outstanding Resident Award from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, multiple research awards, recognition among America’s Top Cardiologists by the Consumers’ Research Council of America, and designation as a 2016 Top Cardiologist in Utah by The Leading Physicians of the World.

Dr. Manchanda earned an Artificial Intelligence Certificate from MIT in 2018 and has a longstanding interest in applying AI to advance cardiovascular imaging, clinical decision-making, and personalized patient care.

Dr. Manchanda is an author, published researcher, and medical-device inventor. He has presented cardiovascular research at national scientific meetings, published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and served as a scientific manuscript reviewer. He holds multiple patents in the medical-device field, including inventions related to ARKA, a digital EKG caliper developed to improve the precision of electrocardiographic measurement.

He is also the author of Your Heart House—An Artisan’s Approach™ to Understanding Heart Health. The book compares the heart to a house—with its plumbing, doors, wiring, and structure—to make complex cardiovascular conditions easier to understand. This commitment to clear communication helps patients participate meaningfully in decisions about their health.

Community Service and Philanthropy

Dr. Manchanda has a longstanding commitment to improving access to care in medically underserved communities. During his years in Utah, he developed cardiology outreach programs serving rural communities throughout Garfield, Beaver, and Iron counties, bringing specialized cardiovascular care closer to patients who previously had limited access. His love of skiing also led him to provide medical care without charge at ski resorts serving remote and underserved communities.

His philanthropic efforts extend internationally through his support of DO GOOD International and other initiatives assisting underserved and economically disadvantaged communities in India. These efforts focus on expanding access to healthcare and education, which Dr. Manchanda believes are essential foundations for dignity, opportunity, and lasting improvements in quality of life.
