Prior to CVMG
He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. He was selected to remain as Chief Resident at Jewish Hospital. He completed a year in clinical research in cardiology at University of California, San Francisco. He continued his training in General Cardiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and then returned to San Francisco to complete his General and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at the University of California San Francisco. He then continued his training in peripheral vascular disease and advanced endovascular and structural heart disease interventions as Clinical Instructor at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. Dr. Sharma then joined the Cardiovascular Medical Group in 2009.

Dr. Sharma has been published in numerous medical journals and articles such as The Journal of Invasive Cardiology, Journal of American College of Cardiology and The American Journal of Cardiology.
