Because of the current Coronavirus situation, I was hesitant about keeping my appointment for a CT and blood work on Wednesday morning with Dr. Karlsberg at the Cardiovascular Medical Group.

However, the minute I stepped out of the elevator, I knew I was in safe hands. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw of all the preparations and precautions that have been made to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.

First, the entrance to the waiting room has a check in station that is monitored by a nurse, wearing a mask and gloves, who makes sure you have an appointment, asks you a few questions, checks your temperature, sanitizes your hands and offers you a mask and gloves.

She then invited me into the waiting room that normally seats 25-30, and only had 3-4 people at that time, so it was very safe to wait in.

Another nurse, who was wearing a mask, gloves, protective clothing and a face shield, came to take me inside. After checking my vitals and giving me an EKG, she escorted me to the CT Department.

I can honestly say that the staff at the CT department is amazing and equally prepared. Since I have a pacemaker and a defibrillator, I needed to be monitored during the procedure. I was well taken care of.

I then was taken to get my blood work and finally to my meeting with Dr. Karlsberg. He went over my tests and condition and was extremely and genuinely concerned with my health and safety.

Everyone, everywhere, was very prepared, very professional, and made me feel very safe. I am looking forward to my next appointment on Monday to go over my results and health issues.
